Charles Bletsas is the head of the Medical Malpractice Department at The Law Offices of Parente & Norem, P.C. In 2024, Mr. Bletsas led a trial team to a $14 million jury verdict in Cook County, IL. He and his team represented the estate of a baby who died at age four from his pre-birth neurologic injuries. Negligent emergency medicine care at the University of Chicago Medical Center led to a delay in his delivery which caused the baby to suffer severe brain injuries including cerebral palsy, blindness, total dependency, and ultimately his premature death.
Prior to joining Parente & Norem, Mr. Bletsas was a partner at a Chicago firm focusing on medical malpractice defense and general civil litigation. With a record of success spanning over 25 years, Mr. Bletsas’ entire career has been heavily focused on birth trauma cases, having litigated traumatic birth injury claims such as hypoxic ischemic injuries, brachial plexus injuries, and neonatal complications.
Mr. Bletsas is also skilled in attorney malpractice claims involving fiduciary issues, litigating complex financial fraud claims, commercial contracts, and construction negligence disputes.
Mr. Bletsas received his J.D., cum laude, from Wayne State University, where he served as a Senior Articles Editor of the Wayne Law Review. He received his B.A. in economics from the University of Michigan.
